Ocean Energy Europe organises the annual Ocean Energy Europe Conference & Exhibition – the industry’s leading annual event which gathers the industry’s most senior representatives, Ministers & Commissioners every year. Since its launch in 2013, the OEE Annual Conference & Exhibition has grown to be the world’s leading annual ocean energy event. This year’s edition, the OEE2019 Conference & Exhibition took place in Dublin.
As part of the programme, SeaQurrent showcased the TidalKite Power Plant solution. Maarten Berkhout, Project Development Director: “It was great to be part of this event and share our development with relevant industry players. It proved a great opportunity to share ideas and experiences, meet new potential partners or suppliers, all in one place.”
About the session: Tidal Energy Technology Showcase

The OEE2019 conference is themed around the vision of ocean energy as a mainstream power source. Increasing cost-competitiveness and zero carbon emissions have propelled wind and solar power into the mainstream energy mix. The ocean energy sector can do the same. Not only can it hold its own in economic and environmental terms, but ocean energy is also highly predictable, often invisible, and has a huge resource worldwide. This year’s conference will explore what still needs to be done to push ocean energy into the mainstream, and will highlight the added value that the technologies bring to the table.
